Express Entry Program for Skilled Workers

In January of 2015, the Canadian government initiated a new system called “Express Entry”. This is simply a pool of applicants that qualify for one of the following programs:

  • Skilled Worker Program;
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program;
  • Canadian Experience Class;
  • as a provincial nominee.

It is within this pool that Provinces, Territories and Canadian employers will choose convenient applicants for their needs. It is a match system where the right applicants find the right employer and the other way around.

Canadian Experience Class

If you have gained 12 months of skilled, full-time work experience in Canada, let us assess your application for this program. This program is for workers who understand very well either French or English and are planning to live outside Quebec.

Applying for Canadian citizenship

Skilled workers for Quebec

The Quebec government hasn’t until now issued a date at which they will reopen the program.  But we know that by October 1st 2015, we will be able to apply online.  We can guess that this will now be the focus date. The program is limited to 6300 skilled workers and we predict that it will be filled up very quickly. If you wish to apply, it would be prudent to gather all your documentation as soon as possible and get DJP Quebec immigration to assess your candidacy.

Quebec experience program (QEP)

The PEQ is an accelerated selection program for skilled workers which came into effect on February 14, 2010. It was especially designed for:

  • temporary workers who hold a skilled job in Québec;
  • foreign students who graduated in Québec or are studying towards graduation.

The QEP's goal is to rapidly issue a Québec selection certificate (CSQ) to workers and graduates who apply for it and meet certain requirements. A CSQ is also issued, where applicable, to their spouse or de facto spouse and dependent children included in their application.

Eligibility conditions under the QEP are different for temporary workers and Québec graduates.

If you meet the eligibility conditions for both Québec graduates and temporary workers (for example, if you hold a post-graduation work permit and have held a skilled job in Québec for at least 12 months), you can choose between applying for your CSQ as a graduate or a worker.
